Define Objectives, Determine Current State and Environment

Understand the Environment

The Assessment phase is the foundation of every Griffin Hayes engagement. Before any improvement can be designed or implemented, we must establish a clear, factual understanding of where your organization stands today — across strategic objectives, operational activities, and the people and systems that support them.

Structured and Methodical

Our structured assessment methodology examines both high-level strategic decisions and the day-to-day business and program activities that drive performance, giving your leadership a complete and honest picture of your current environment.

Flexible Scope to Fit Your Needs and Budget

The processes are flexible. We can look at the entire organization, program, or enterprise, or we can focus on a specific aspect of your product or service delivery. It depends upon what's important to you, and how the review fits with your strategic objectives and budget. Reports and other outputs can be created in a format that provides management and the workforce with effective, useful tools and information.

Best Practices Guidance

We construct our assessment and audit programs using the latest tools and best practices guidance per FASB, IFRS, FAR, GASB, GAGAS, GAAS, ISSB, GRI, ISO, COSO, and B-Corp standards as applicable

Sample Pre-Audit Checklist: To share with you samples and examples that illustrate our methodology and tools, we've created a fictional "Coastal Shipyard Company" and modelled some documets.
Below is a sample "Pre-Audit Checklist" that would be utilized in the information-gathering assessment phase. This is an internal document we would use to create a customer facing audit plan (also see the "Analysis" page). This document is fairly comprehensive, and an actual checklist would depend upon the scope and nature of any assessment.
Keys include holistically addressing all aspects of operation, an ability to clearly prioritize data results, as well as indicate the level importance to the customer.
